Cara grew up on the North Shore of Massachusetts. She spent all her free time at the stables learning about horses and hounds.

In 1981 she attended the University of Maine Orono where she obtained a degree in Veterinary Technology. In 1983 she moved to New York City to do an internship at the Animal Medical Center and stayed on as staff. In 1988 she moved to Westside Veterinary Center where she worked until 2004.

In 1995 she graduated from Fordham University with a Bachelor’s degree in Natural Science.

Cara moved to the North Fork in 2004. Settling in Orient, she joined the Orient Fire Department as an AEMT and a Fire Fighter. She joined the North Fork Animal Hospital in 2010.

Cara enjoys the variety and diversity of patients we see at NFAH. In her free time, she enjoys gardening and spending time with her wife Nancy and their collection of pets. Whenever possible, she tries to get up to her summer lake home in Wolfeboro, NH.
